When I contacted Karen from CT to see about working with her as we moved to NC, I had no idea how lucky I was to find the right decorator. She takes such care to get you what YOU want, but with a decorator's ideas, comprehensive designs and connections for fine furnishings - not spaces designed around her style. She works well within your given budget, communicates so regularly and the whole team treats you like it's a pleasure to do your project. I've told many new acquaintances about her method of not having you look at pricing and details of particular items but creating spaces for you that look like you want them to within your budget. It comes together beautifully and you're none the wiser, as those details are what get in the way of getting and loving the end result.

I can't say enough about their team and their work - fabulous! You won't be disappointed. You'll be thrilled. It will feel like money well spent for sure.

Working with Freshwater Interior Design and Freshwater Custom Homes was the BEST decision we ever made when choosing to renovate our home. We did a complete renovation of almost every inch of our home with hundreds of decisions to make and Karen with Freshwater Custom Homes and her amazing team seamlessly helped us make every decision and detail including anything and everything that was needed to do so (from door handles and hinges, to dimensions and fabric of custom furniture, to throw pillows, to even sheets and bedding on the beds, to every light fixture throughout, to flooring throughout, to paint colors and wallpaper throughout, to every kitchen detail of custom cabinetry and appliances and countertops, to every detail in our new bathroom, and ALL of the in between). We completely gutted most of our home and Freshwater Interior Design helped helped re-design the layout of our kitchen and add added a scullery to the design. Karen and her team added a beautiful sitting room when entering the home with curated details and a custom fireplace. The team also added a new custom fireplace and arched bookshelves that added such a classic and gorgeous element. They were able to design a beautiful new master bathroom with custom closets for us. And they also added a custom fireplace in our master bedroom and designed every detail down to the curtains in our master bedroom. Karen and her team made sure every room flowed together seamlessly and effortlessly. After her designs were presented to us, we couldn’t believe it was the same home. They took our house from a very dated, choppy layout to the most beautiful, well thought-out layout that is truly comfortable and warm and inviting, but also magazine worthy. Karen and her team left no detail behind in every inch of our home. They did so much more than we could have ever imagined. Karen and her family (and the whole Freshwater Interior Design team) will always be some of the best people we have ever worked with. Their reliability, expertise and character is unmatched. We are so thankful we chose Freshwater Interior Design.

I decided a few years ago that I wanted to build a one of a kind man cave unlike any man cave I had seen except for in my head. I interviewed Mona and Karen and I am sure they thought I was nuts when I told them what I was looking for. They listened to what I was saying and came back with a design that I really liked but I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Well let me tell you, it came out better than anyone could have expected. Even though supply chain was bit of an issue, they handled everything with professionalism and weekly updates. I have been in my man cave for over 6 months and I couldn't be happier with the results. Everyone that walks in is blown away by it and it is thanks to Karen and Mona for helping me through the entire process. Thank you!!!!

I had an antique piece of furniture from the 1930s that I really wanted to keep but I also wanted a modern dining room look. Karen and her team are amazing! My finished room was completely transformed into a beautifully designed functional space with my heritage piece perfectly showcased!

I am so happy that I used HomeStyled Interior Design when we built our new home. Because this home was smaller, we needed a lot of new furniture and more importantly a great design that flowed throughout the house.
